Location - Lat. N37° 21' 36.66",Long. 107° 35' 52.26" NAD83 , in SE¼ NE¼ sec. 26, T.36 N., R.7 W., NMPM, La Plata County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14080101, on right bank, approximately 1.8 mi downstream of Vallecito Reservoir, and 0.3 mi downstream of the confluence of Red Creek.

Drainage Area and Period of Record - Drainage area = 270 mi². Period of Record: Published record by the USGS Oct. 26, 1927 to Sep. 30, 1986 (site no. 09353500). Provisional record CODWR Oct. 1, 1986 to present.

Gage - Sutron Satlink2 DCP connected to a shaft encoder (SE) in a 56-inch by 53-inch timber shelter and stilling well. A Stage-Discharge-Recorder (SDR - not connected to the DCP) is used for backup purposes. The SE and SDR are referred to an adjustable reference point (RP_DT) at the edge of the instrument shelf. The station is equipped with a 2-inch intake with flush valve. The flush valve key is located inside the shelter. The intake is flushed using a large mobile air compressor supplied by the Pine River Irrigation District (PRID). The air compressor is connected with a twist-claw (a.k.a. universal hose coupling) fitting. Datum of gauge is approximately 7,436 ft above mean sea level (from topographic map).
